Sym-Bionic Titan: nostalgic and classic humanity

I love this show. I have 5 episodes left and I'm already going to miss it. it makes me feel nostalgic.

The writing is really well done, too. the characters feel so, so human. the dialogue is as if they were real people talking. even the facial expressions and mannerisms.. idk how to describe it but each one has so much character.

they act like how you'd figure them to. Lance seems like a moody guy, elusive... of course he likes guitar. Ilana is a princess, she will always strive to make things right for people, like that time she created a new healthy menu for the school. And Octus, man, his stories hit hard, because.. he's not even human. Especially that one episode where the Mutradi froze all life forms on the Earth, which left him to defeat it on his own. sure, he can't feel the way the others do, but the beautiful thing is that he comes to terms with that at the end of the episode. he accepts himself for who he is- a robot who can kinda feel.

I know I'll look back on this cartoon with fond memories like how I am with Daria. these shows bring so much life into me, the way these characters are portrayed in the situations they go through. what Titan brings is the details of these characters, like Lance not wanting to share his new guitar hobby with the two. Or Ilana cowering away because she became hideous after becoming infected by that lizard thing. Or Octus questioning his analyzing ability after hanging out with humans for too long. the fact that I can name so many just show how significant these details are. goes to show how lively they can make a character feel.

I hope to inject this same amount of detail in whatever I make some day. man, maybe even animation. but a game, for sure....
